IPL 2024: MI vs CSK Dhoni's Hat-Trick of Sixes against Hardik Pandya Steals the Spotlight in MI vs CSK Clash

Pathirana's Masterclass: CSK Clinch Victory Despite Rohit's Heroics

Dube came back to his hometown ground in a stylish way. Ruturaj Gaikwad played his best game ever as the captain of Chennai Super Kings. Rohit Sharma's hundred, which he didn't get out in, made the home fans really happy. And Matheesha Pathirana led the visiting team to a big win in the Indian Premier League.

But what really stood out were the last four balls of the first innings. Mahendra Singh Dhoni hit three sixes in a row, and Pathirana bowled brilliantly, making a big difference for the Super Kings. This win was their first away from home in IPL 2024.

Mumbai Indians didn't do so well, losing their fourth game out of six. Even though Rohit played amazingly, MI couldn't keep up, partly because of the great bowling from the Super Kings in tough conditions.

Check out the highlights of MI vs CSK:

Mumbai Indians needed 89 runs in the last eight overs. Rohit and Tilak Verma were trying to get a big score in one over. But Ravindra Jadeja only gave away six runs in his last over. Then, Pathirana, who had already taken two wickets in his first over, got Tilak out in the next one.

Shardul Thakur only gave two runs in the next over, and Tushar Deshpande only gave three runs and got the captain, Hardik Pandya, out.

With 72 runs needed in the last four overs, it was tough for Mumbai to win. Rohit scored his second IPL hundred, but it wasn't enough for them to win.

Dhoni entertained the crowd with a quick four-ball innings at the end. Dube and Gaikwad had played really well before, scoring 90 runs together. But Dhoni's 20 runs in four balls, including three sixes in a row off Hardik, helped CSK score over 200 runs.

This was important because of the dew on the ground, which makes it hard to bowl. In the end, CSK won by 20 runs.

Final Score: CSK 206/4 (20 Overs) MI 186/6 (20 Overs)
